A Sleepless Cabaret: The stunning premiere of Natasha Moszenin’s all-original jazz cabaret on insomnia.
Melbourne-based composer/ director Natasha Moszenin is a life-long insomniac. In 2014 she created The Insomnia Project, an innovative music-theatre work that exposed some of the harsh, and at times hilarious truths about living with sleeplessness. After 2 highly successful seasons of this work, she is ready to unleash a brand new show: A Sleepless Cabaret.
3 women, who have never met before, are forced to spend a night together in a remote regional hotel room. They are all going to be bridesmaids at a country wedding. What fun. Unfortunately, they are all chronic insomniacs. Would a shot of vodka help?
A Sleepless Cabaret will take its audience through a journey into the heart and mind of the chronically sleepless, who struggle with fatigue, anger and alienation, and who despair at their fate. What else is there to do but sing the night away?
Book now to see how a night can truly feel like a lifetime, and how a lifetime can be filled with song, 2 shows only, August 27 and 28 at 7pm.
“The haunting music easily evokes the ways in which insomnia slips into moments of insanity”
